Scaling Up Sales is a program supported by The Office for Economic Affairs and Innovation (SPEI) in partnership with Innovaud and the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT). This program supports SMEs & technology start-ups in the growth phase by developing the business management skills of entrepreneurs.

The value of innovation in growth

Innovation alone represents a minority part of a company's economic added value. It is the implementation of innovation in the market that provides tangible and substantial proof of the value of the company - through its market, its customers, its revenue and its history of growth.

Implementation begins with the ability to acquire customers and then grow its capacity exponentially to ensure its survival and economic success.

The ability to acquire customers is a state of mind and a science that can be learned and which must be part of the DNA of the company and its leaders.

Program Objectives

Raise awareness of the importance of sales management to grow and scale


  • Train entrepreneurs in sales management and business growth

  • Complete the theoretical training with practical support from a Sales Angel

  • Support start-ups and SMEs in a logic of economically sustainable growth

  • Encourage entrepreneurs to develop their business beyond Switzerland, to go further, bigger and faster

  • Promoting business excellence

Objectifs du Programme
Standing Meeting

The Scaling Up Sales program is primarily aimed at the following company profile

  • Innovative company in commercialization or pre-commercialization phase with a product or service validated by the market (MVP3 or MVP4)

  • Minimum of 5 employees

  • High growth potential

  • Ideally two participants per company to facilitate learning implementation

  • Ability to contribute economically to the program

  • Less than 10 years in business

  • Be a company domiciled in the canton of Vaud

  • Business leaders and their associates:

    • CEOs of start-ups, scale-ups or SMEs

    • Co-founders (CSO, COO)

    • Head of sales, Head of business development (if the CEO is also trained)

  • 100 hours of coaching

  • Sales organization and processes

  • Commercial prospecting 

  • Customer management and negotiations

  • Sales recruitment assistance

  • Management reviews and routines 

  • Dedicated Sales Angels with 15 to 20 years of experience in the targeted field

  • Management of Sales Angels by the program

  1. Submit your application by filling out the form

  2. The committee selects the shortlisted companies (limited places)

  3. Interviews and matching with a Sales Angel

  4. Establishment of a roadmap for the Sales Angel mission

  5. Registration for the Sales Management Academy training program

  6. Start of the Sales Angel program

  7. Coordination and checkpoints on the progress of the program

  8. End of the program and impact analysis
